Chapter 1.30 of the Chico Municipal Code limits the total amount of contributions to a candidate seeking election to the city council and to a committee supporting or opposing a city council candidate to $500 per contributor. In addition, each such candidate or committee is required to publicly report the amount of each contribution received and the name, address, occupation and employer of each contributor.
Related to my role as a Planning Commissioner: Among other things, California Code Section 84308 prohibits Commissioners from soliciting or accepting campaign contributions of more than $250 from any party, participant or agent of a party or participant, while a proceeding is pending before the Commission and for three months following the date of that decision, if you are such a party, participant or agent then this is not a solicitation for more than a $250 contribution.
